Senior C# Software Developer

Role: Senior C# Software Developer (Data)

Salary: £55-65k plus benefits

Location/ Working Arrangement: Birmingham office, flexible working hours and location. You can go into the office as much or as little as you like. The average, I would say, is 1/month

Do you want to work in a company that is big enough to have well-established career paths, small enough to know that all your work makes a real, material difference, and prides itself on not only some of the best tech talent around but also a culture to match?

If not, why not?!

I love recruiting for this company, and I’m sure you’ll love working there.

I am looking for a Senior Software Developer to join a team of 4 highly proficient, friendly people, consisting of you, two developers, and a product Manager, who looks after a B2B and B2C SaaS web product.

As a highly capable Software Developer and go-to person on the team, with a friendly demeanour, collaborative approach, and a straightforward communication style, you’ll be well-versed in modern software development best practices, cloud services, a modern data stack, and high-quality solutions. This role will see you doing full-stack web development using .NET, C#, Angular, TypeScript, Azure, SQL Server, some React, etc. You’ll also be providing small-scale technical management within your team.

You’ll be working in a cloud-native (Azure) PaaS (Platform as a Service) environment where they use IaC (Infrastructure as Code) techniques and strong Agile development elements, including unit testing, integration testing, build automation, release automation, pipelines, infrastructure-as-code.

If this sounds like a great time to you, apply now, or if you want to ask some questions to learn more, drop me a line and let’s talk!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

Full Stack Developer

Role: C# .Net Core Developer with Angular and AWS

Location: Sandiacre, Nottingham.  Hybrid working – 2/3 days per week in office.

Salary: Up to £60k

C# and ASP.Net (Core) are where you live.  You’re comfortable there.  You’ve got your foundations right at the start with good development practices, and have since built a strong and secure career by learning about handy tools such as dependency injection, microservices, containerisation, etc.

You use cloud hosting like AWS to reduce your overheads and improve efficiencies.

For those mundane, repeatable tasks, you use design patterns, to make sure you do the same thing in the same way, every time, so your house doesn’t fall due to shoddy, unpredictable work.

Whilst you use modern tech, practices, and techniques, you have been in the development game for long enough to be able to read, understand, and convert an older codebase (.Net 4, MVC, etc) to a new, shiny version (.Net Core, CosmosDB, AWS etc) seamlessly. You know what the newer stuff does best, and ways to incorporate that in the rewrite.

Finally, you’re great at understanding what your users want out of your solution because you’ve got great communication skills and ask the RIGHT questions! It doesn’t matter if they’re internal or external- you are good with people.

Now, you need a new role to put all this knowledge and experience to great use, which – if you hadn’t guessed already – is where this role comes in.  If you feel the above describes you, this is the role you need to apply for.

The company is small and handy: they can make development choices quickly and efficiently.   They are quite a young company, so even their legacy code isn’t very old. Everyone knows each other well and is an intelligent bunch that likes to have a laugh along the way!  They make a point of leveraging the best tech out there to make sure their products are the best they can be- well-written, functional, and reliable.

They have a flagship product and an additional one: this role will be initially seeing you work on the additional one: liaising with internal stakeholders (the product’s current users) to do a revamp of the codebase to bring it up to the latest iteration of .Net Core 6, improve its functionality, and to use a more appropriate database. You will then most likely work on the flagship product, which uses .Net Core 4/5, AWS, Microservices, Docker, etc.

If this sounds right up your street, apply now, or drop me a line to learn more about your new role!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

Senior C# .Net Developer – Backend

Role: Senior C# .Net Developer – Backend

Location: North Nottingham, hybrid 2/ week in office

Salary: Up to £63K

This has to be one of my all-time favourite companies to recruit for: they are so lovely.

A long-standing client of Rebel’s, this company make me happy- they value their staff.

I’m looking for a senior or strong senior C# Developer to join a wonderful small-medium-sized company in North Nottingham, just off the M1 J26.

Their beautiful offices have been done up professionally, and have barely been used, as they moved in just before Covid hit- so it would be great for you to get in there and make yourself at home!

They have 3 product development teams, using different tech, ranging from C# MVC, SQL Server and angular to .Net Core and microservices, Azure, and react (moving to Blazor): this role is ideally going to be going into the latter team, so new shiny tech and best practice (SOLID, design patterns, you know the score) is where they are at, and what they’d like you to be proficient with. This is mainly a backend role, so focussing on C#, .Net Core/ 7+, and SQL Server. There will be bits of ad-hoc front-end work involved with Blazor/ React, but nothing major.

You’ll be mentoring other team members in this role, helping them learn and grow!

The work you do here is needed and recognised- they are small enough that everyone knows everyone, collaborates, and generally has a great time at work. This is well-reflected in their very low staff turnover.

Work/life balance is something they are passionate about, so they maintain a 35-hour working week, with core hours, and working-from-home options to help with this. They also offer things like training budget, including Pluralsight subscriptions for engineers, and the option to upskill in different areas of business, for example, if you are a dev and want to move into QA or SysAdmin, they will support you to make that move.

They are of the mindset that human interaction and spontaneity is something that can’t be replaced by scheduled meetings, and since they all actually like each other, going into the office again when it’s safe to do so is something they are happy they’ve been able to get back to.

I could go on about them, but if you’ve read this far, nodding along and with a smile on your face, then apply now and we can have a more in-depth chat about your new role!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

C# Software Engineer

Role: Software Developer (C# .Net 6+)

Location: Leicestershire office. Mostly remote – once per fortnight in the office for team meetings

Salary: Up to £52K

If you’re fed up with getting passed rubbish projects, not having the support you need to do your job to the best of your ability, and no real career progression or training, you should apply for this role.

I know this is a blunt opener, but I can’t think of a witty way to say: ‘You’re being underappreciated and that should stop because you’re great. Here’s how.’

I’m recruiting for a company in Leicester, and they need a Developer.

They’ll be good to you.

They have some great projects to get stuck into- both internal and external- because a few years ago some great, forward-thinking people in their tiny ‘IT department’ decided to champion tech to the board of Directors, and they got the go-ahead to put tech at the heart of the company, and it’s working: they are doing better than ever before.

They have done -and are continuing to make the lives of their non-IT colleagues better by improving the systems/ apps they use. They are delivering new external applications to improve the experience of their users.

They use the latest iterations of the tech they use- C#, .Net Core, Azure, Azure DevOps, CosmosDB, Azure AD, Docker, Kubernetes, Entity Framework, microservices, etc. and believe in doing things the *right* way, both in terms of technical best practice and methodologically, with things like Agile and DevOps processes.

They have implemented Agile and DevOps methodology/ practices and team structure: so, whilst the team structure is quite flat because of that- lots of cross-collaboration between PMs, BAs, Devs, Test, etc. they are a relatively large company, and there are progression routes a-plenty, with training offered, too.

They have several technical teams, filled with people that love what they do, and are blinking great at it.

They are genuinely committed to being one of the best companies to work for in terms of their people, tech, projects, and beautiful office (with free parking and lots of treats in the kitchen).

If you would like to learn more about this role, give me a shout at the contact details provided, or if you’re fully bought in, apply now!

Welcome to the next step in your career.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

Full Stack TypeScript Software Engineer

Role:  Full Stack TypeScript Software Engineer – Vue, Node, AWS

Location:  Temporary office in Derbyshire, Hybrid – 1 day a week in the office.

Salary: £60-80k plus benefits

Do you want to work in a fintech start-up, but don’t want to work with a bunch of tech bros?

If this describes you, read on!

I happen to be working with a small fintech start-up, with up to around 25 people that are all scattered around the globe.

They have a small Software Engineering team in the East Midlands of 3-4 Devs, which is why this role is hybrid with a day per week in an office: they want to get a good collaborative culture here as this is where most people are located in one place.

They go to the pub for lunch and a drink, so make a good time of their office day! They also offer a budget to get your home office just how you like it, so you get the best of both worlds!

They are a lovely bunch of people- laid-back, easy to get on with, and great at what they do.

They are looking for a Software Engineer to join their ranks and help them deliver on all the work they have! They use:

  • TypeScript
  • Vue3
  • Node
  • AWS

They have a variety of projects going on, so the work will vary in its focus, but the current workload is leaning towards backend node, so if you have more of a preference for backend dev, then this could be a good one for you. That said, there will, most likely, be some projects that come through at some point that are more front-end leaning or entirely backend, etc., so please bear that in mind!

If you like the sound of this role, please apply now or get in touch to learn more about it!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

Back End C# Software Engineer

Role: Back End C# Software Engineer

Location & Working Model: Office in Manchester. Fully remote working model with the only caveat being that if you are needed in the office for a meeting, etc. you are happy to go in, but this happens very sporadically.

Salary: up to £50k plus benefits and bonus.

Are you mad about animals?  Have you been having a woof time of it at work recently?

If you answered ‘yes’ to these two questions (and don’t mind my terrible wordplay!), read on…

I’m working with a household name of an employer that is all about our animal buddies and I’m looking for a backend developer for them, hopefully, that’s you.

Tech-wise, you’ll be ace with C#, .Net 7+, Cosmos DB, SQL, etc.   You’ll work in a cross-functional team of front-end developers, back-end developers, and QA testers, doing some cool things.

Your team is helping to deliver a complete rewrite, from the ground up so it would be greenfield work of the company’s web platform and bringing it back in-house from a 3rd party who created it initially, that is no longer fit for purpose.

They are around a year into their journey with this, and to aid them in getting where they need to be, you’ll predominantly be working on APIs, some integration work, CI/ CD, unit testing, etc.

The people you’ll be working alongside are not only great at what they do, they are good, friendly, animal lovers who laugh with each other. If you ever decide to go into the office, they’ll likely have lots of pets running around!

If this role sounds great to you, apply now, or drop me a line to hear more!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

Azure Cloud Engineer

Role: Azure Cloud Engineer

Location: Nottingham, Beeston. Hybrid working model of once per week in the office.

Salary: Up to £55k plus benefits

How would you like to join a friendly, passionate, and supportive team that uses great tech, and collaborates regularly?

Sounds appealing? You’ll want to keep reading, trust me!

I’m working with a lovely Nottingham-based FinTech company in the automotive space, which is looking to expand its dev team with a Senior Developer.

They are a Microsoft house, so use the Microsoft web tech stack, including C#, .Net 7+, Azure, Azure DevOps, WebAPI, SQL Server, Entity Framework, Blazor, etc.

Naturally, they work in an Agile way, so you’ll need to be used to working iteratively, using best practices with things like design patterns and SOLID principles, doing unit testing, and ideally, you’ll have done work with microservices and service bus and worked with CI/ CD pipelines.

They are a small company but have a great structure in place, which means that progression routes are well-established, pay reviews are regular, and you’ll know what you need to do to reach that next level!

They have lots of flexibility around their working hours and location, etc, so you can start work between 7 am-10 am, as long as their core hours of 10 am-3 pm are covered, you’re free to work when you want to, as long as you get what you need to do, they’re happy.

This role will see you doing a wide variety of things, from adding new features to their applications to website work to system development, and more!

If this sounds great to you, apply today or drop me a line to find out more!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

Senior TypeScript Developer

Role:  Senior TypeScript Developer (node, vue, AWS)

Location:  Office in Nottingham, up to fully remote working, pretty much whatever you’d prefer. Some people never go in, and some go in on Mondays and Wednesdays, but it’s not mandatory whatsoever!

Salary:  Around £60-70k plus benefits

You’re a great TypeScript Developer and you’ve got loads of experience in different industries, and you now want to apply that to a super interesting role in a relatively niche sector that is helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the world.

If this sounds like you, read on!

You’ll be working in a cross-functional team of 7 developers, 3 QA, 3 AWS Cloud Engineers, a firmware engineer, a UX chap, and a Project Manager.

Nobody here is siloed, and as such, you’ll be getting stuck across both of their flagship applications. They use full stack TypeScript predominantly, with node on the backend, Vue on the front end, and AWS for cloud infrastructure. They do some 3D modelling so if you’ve used 3.js, that could be really useful, not essential!

They have been moving away from the PHP in their estate for the last few years but there is still a bit of it in there that you’ll have to interact with a little bit. It’s PHP8, so any background in PHP would be very useful.

You’ll have some leadership experience, on projects and doing some mentoring of juniors/ mids, and be a fabulous communicator!

Importantly, you will be an eager beaver when it comes to code reviews and you’ll have a head for innovation: being able to take a project spec and translate it into a consistent application, with user-visual optimisation!

The interview process is 3 stages: a screening call, 90 minute tech test, 30 minute final chat to go through the test.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.
