Front End Web Developer

Role:  Front End Web Developer

Location:  Lincoln

Working Arrangement:  5 days a week in the office

Salary:  Up to £35k depending on experience

Are you just starting out in web development, or maybe a couple of years into your journey? If that sounds like you, keep reading because this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

You’ll be joining a small and supportive team that’s genuinely invested in helping you grow. They’ll encourage you to develop your skills and build your confidence. Ideally, you’ll have already had some exposure to a commercial environment as a web developer and be ready to take the next step.

Good communication and a willingness to collaborate will go a long way here. You’ll be working closely with other developers who are keen to help you learn and grow. This is a team that believes in sharing knowledge and supporting each other.

You’ll need to have some experience working with WordPress. If you’ve been involved in any design work, even better. You’ll be working alongside the designer, giving you a chance to contribute creatively and showcase your skills. A good handle on HTML and CSS is essential, and if you’ve got some basic JavaScript knowledge, that’s a definite plus.

When it comes to progression, they’re not looking to box you into a single role. What they want is someone with a genuine interest in becoming a developer, and they’ll support you every step of the way.

If this sounds like something you’d be excited to be part of, get in touch.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.

Automation Tester

Role: Automation Tester

Location: Primarily remote, 1 day a month in London

Salary: Up to £60k negotiable for the right candidate

Are you after a fresh start? Want a role where you can really make your mark and shape things from day one? If that sounds like what you’re after, keep reading because this could be just what you’re looking for.

This is a brand-new position, and you’ll be the very first Automation Tester to join the team. The plan is to build a team around you, so you won’t be on your own for long. You’ll have support as the automation function grows. But from the beginning, you’ll be the one setting the pace.

You’ll be working closely with teams right across the business, so being comfortable talking to people and asking the right questions will go a long way. You’ll be responsible for building automation frameworks from scratch, maintaining them, and constantly looking at how to improve what’s already in place. This is your chance to take full ownership of the automation approach and processes.

On the tech side, they’re looking for someone with experience testing across CI/CD pipelines, with a good understanding of back end, front end and API testing. You’ll also need to be confident writing frameworks using Python.

This is a genuinely solid opportunity to lead something from the ground up. Your voice will be heard, and you’ll have real input into how things are built. You’ll be joining a small but welcoming team, and while they’d ideally like someone to come into the office once a week, they’re happy to be flexible if needed.

If this sounds like something you’d like to explore further, get in touch.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.

Maritime Solutions Architect

Role: Maritime Solutions Architect

Location: Fully remote working with occasional travel to international and domestic client sites

Salary: Up to £70k plus benefits

Ahoy there!

Have you spent a lot of time in the engine room of sea-faring vessel, as a second engineer or similar?

Do you understand the maritime industry from a technical, hands-on perspective?

Are you looking to come up for air and be land-based once again but don’t know where you’ll fit in?

Do you want to help the planet and the people on it?

If you are shouting ‘YES!’ to all these questions, then read on, this role is for you!

Working with a small start-up company in the tech4good space, I am looking for you- someone who has come from the maritime industry, can speak to jargon, understand how things work, and garner respect from the people therein.

In this role, you will be customer-facing: using all your knowledge and insight to work closely with maritime companies, to understand how they captain their ships and getting their behavioural data to turn it into actionable insights on how they can make small changes to reduce their fuel consumption, reduce their carbon emissions, and save money.

As you can imagine, good communication skills, a natural curiosity and desire to solve customer and user problems, and knowledge of the different systems and data onboard ships, including 3rd party maritime systems and data available, are necessary for you to perform this role really well.

It would be useful- but not a requirement- if you’ve got any experience of/passion for/desire to learn about data analysis here, as the internal part of your role will be to spot patterns and insights from large amounts of data from ship captains to allow them to reduce their carbon emissions through reduced fuel consumption.

You will be working in a modern Agile environment and will be taught any skills that you don’t have in this area, from Excel, Python, and SQL, to modern software delivery practices, DevOps principles, etc.

This is a fantastic role for someone who wants to stay close to the maritime industry they love, who wants to pick up new skills, and stay on land!

If you want to jump aboard this role, apply now for immediate consideration, or drop me a line to find out more!
