Senior Software Engineer

Role: Senior Software Developer

Location: Nottinghamshire

Working Arrangement:  Hybrid – 2 days/week in the office
Salary: Up to £65k

Your Opportunity

You’re a hands-on Senior Software Developer who enjoys solving complex problems, shaping technical direction, and seeing your ideas make a real impact. This role gives you the chance to take ownership of a mature software platform while directly influencing its future roadmap and delivering meaningful new functionality used by real customers.

You’ll work in an agile environment where your experience matters. From sprint planning through to delivery, you’ll be trusted to make sound technical decisions, build robust solutions, and help guide the team toward high-quality outcomes. This is a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, technical depth, and being relied upon.

Your Role

As a Senior Software Developer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable, scalable software that supports customers in managing and growing their businesses. You’ll write clean, maintainable code, contribute ideas to future development, and play a key role in delivering development sprints to agreed timelines.

You’ll support and motivate an agile development team, helping to coordinate sprint activity, complete code reviews, and ensure stories are delivered to a high standard. Alongside your hands-on development work, you’ll coach others, share knowledge, and help raise the overall technical capability of the team.

Strong communication is essential. You’ll work closely with developers, testers, business analysts, and stakeholders, confidently discussing stories, processes, and low-level architecture with both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll design and implement feature enhancements, maintenance updates, and new technical capabilities across the platform, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and future-proof. You’ll build and maintain server-side services, APIs, and databases that support client-side applications, while analysing issues across multiple layers of the system to identify and resolve root causes.

You’ll take ownership of sprint and release activity, helping to plan, prioritise, and coordinate work based on risk, dependencies, and delivery timelines. Code quality will be a key focus, with regular code reviews, documentation creation, and adherence to best-practice development standards.

Throughout your work, you’ll demonstrate ownership, accountability, and strong decision-making, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll bring a strong theoretical and practical understanding of modern software development principles, including security best practices.

Experience with front-end technologies such as React, Blazor, or legacy AngularJS will be beneficial, as will familiarity with Entity Framework, Kibana, Grafana, test-driven development, and agile ways of working. Exposure to event-driven platforms, microservices architecture, containerisation, Kubernetes, or Microsoft Azure would be an advantage.

Beyond technical skills, you’ll be proactive, organised, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You’ll communicate clearly and professionally, contribute confidently in meetings, and build strong working relationships across teams. A commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing is essential.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to step into a senior, hands-on role where your expertise genuinely matters. You’ll influence technical direction, take real ownership of delivery, and work in an environment that supports growth, learning, and continuous improvement. If you’re looking for a role that balances challenge, responsibility, and long-term progression, this could be the right move for you.

Design Systems Lead

Role:  Design Systems Lead

Location:  Sheffield

Working Model:  Hybrid – 2 days a week in the office

Salary:  Up to £70,000 Dependent on experience

Build the system that powers everything else.

This role is for someone who loves creating order, clarity, and momentum at scale.

As a Design Systems Lead, you’ll take ownership of an established (or evolving) design system and shape it into something teams genuinely rely on. Your work will sit at the intersection of design and engineering, creating the foundations that help products ship faster, stay consistent, and scale with confidence.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role where your decisions will influence how designers design and how engineers build.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing, building, and maintaining a design system that spans both design and code
  • Creating reusable components, patterns, and guidelines in Figma
  • Defining and managing design tokens (colour, spacing, typography, motion)
  • Working closely with engineers to ensure design components map cleanly to coded components
  • Setting clear standards for accessibility, responsiveness, and theming
  • Producing clear documentation so teams know when and how to use the system
  • Reducing UI and design decision fatigue so teams can move faster
  • Evolving the system as the product, team, and complexity grow

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to have done everything, but you must have real experience owning a design system.

  • Proven experience designing, scaling, or maintaining a design system in a product environment
  • Expert-level Figma skills (components, variants, variables)
  • Strong understanding of modern frontend development and component-based architectures (e.g. React)
  • Experience partnering closely with engineers on shared component models
  • A product-led mindset — you design to solve real problems, not just to make things look good
  • Comfort working in complex, data-heavy products
  • A solid grounding in user-centred design and evidence-based decision making

Nice to have (but not essential)

  • Hands-on experience contributing to or implementing a coded design system
  • Familiarity with tools like Storybook, Tailwind, or token-based theming
  • Background in B2B, industrial, or technically complex products

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.

Head of Sales

Role: Head of Sales

Location: Primarily remote with quarterly in person meetings

Salary: Up to £70,000 plus OTE

This is a role for someone who wants to build something that lasts.

You’ll join a growing B2B SaaS business focused on helping leaders make better decisions over time. The platform is built for long term impact, not short-term wins. Insight comes before action. Trust matters. Delivery has to match what is sold.

They are now looking for a Head of Sales to design and lead a commercial function that scales properly. This is not about chasing numbers at any cost. It is about building a disciplined, credible sales operation that increases revenue and strengthens customer relationships.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Owning the full sales function and commercial strategy
  • Defining how the business targets, qualifies, and converts customers
  • Making customer expansion a core growth driver
  • Protecting pricing, margins, and deal quality
  • Building and coaching a small team of Business Development Managers
  • Creating clear, repeatable sales processes and enablement
  • Maintaining accurate CRM data, forecasting, and pipeline visibility
  • Working closely with Product, Delivery, Marketing, and Leadership

What success looks like

  • A predictable and healthy pipeline
  • Strong growth from existing customers
  • Increasing average contract value
  • Consistent conversion rates and renewals
  • A clear, trusted sales operating system in place

How the team works

  • Evidence first, action second
  • Clear ownership and follow-through
  • High trust with real accountability
  • Focus on systems that scale, not individual heroics

What we’re looking for

  • Experience leading a B2B or SaaS sales function
  • A strong background in consultative selling
  • Proven ability to build repeatable sales processes
  • Confidence working with senior leaders and CEOs
  • Comfort operating in a growing and evolving business
  • High integrity and sound judgement

Experience in education-related markets, public sector environments, or growth stage businesses would be beneficial but not essential.

If you care about doing sales properly and want to build something credible and sustainable, this role is worth a conversation.

We welcome diverse applicants and are committed to treating all candidates with dignity and respect.

Lead Data Engineer – Azure/Databricks

Role:  Lead Data Engineer – Azure/Databricks

Location:  Sheffield

Working Model:  Hybrid – 2 days per week in person

Salary:  Up to £85k depending on experience

Own the data platform. Shape the future architecture.

This role is for a hands-on data engineering leader who wants to build something properly, not babysit legacy pipelines.

You’ll take full ownership of the data engineering domain, leading the design and building of a modern, highly scalable data platform that handles complex, high-frequency industrial data. You’ll work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and senior leadership, with the trust and mandate to make meaningful architectural decisions.

If you enjoy balancing strong engineering principles with real-world business needs, and you like mentoring others while staying deeply technical, this role is built for you.

What you’ll be working on

  • Architecting and rebuilding the data transformation layer in Databricks
  • Designing robust data flows that support both real-time operational views and deep historical analysis
  • Moving pipelines from ad-hoc scripts to software-engineering standards (CI/CD, testing, modular design)
  • Defining clear data models, schemas, and standards across a complex data estate
  • Establishing a stable, high-performance serving layer for analytics, visualisation, and data science workloads
  • Working closely with data scientists to remove bottlenecks and enable better modelling and experimentation
  • Pair-programming, mentoring, and raising the engineering bar for a small, capable team

You won’t just be delivering features; you’ll be setting direction.

The tech you’ll work with

  • Core: Azure, Databricks, Python, SQL, dbt, MQTT
  • Storage & Serving: Delta Lake, Postgres, TimescaleDB
  • Modelling & ML: MLflow
  • Visualisation: Grafana

What makes you a great fit

You’re someone who can zoom out to architecture and zoom in to code, comfortably.

  • Proven experience building and owning data platforms on Azure
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Databricks (lakehouse architecture, cluster management, performance and cost optimisation)
  • Strong opinions on data modelling, schema design, and standardisation
  • You treat data pipelines as software: version control, CI/CD, automated testing
  • Comfortable challenging architectural decisions, and explaining why
  • Able to translate technical trade-offs into business impact for non-technical stakeholders
  • A mentor by nature: you raise the team through pairing, guidance, and example

Industry experience

  • Experience with industrial, sensor-driven, or time-series data is highly desirable
  • Alternatively, background in high-volume or highly variable data environments (missing data, duplicates, schema drift, spiky load) will transfer well

Why you’ll want this role

  • Real autonomy: You’re trusted to make architectural calls, that’s why you’re being hired
  • Visible impact: Your work directly unlocks better analytics and machine learning outcomes
  • Modern problems: You’ll work on advanced data patterns and architectures, not cosmetic refactors
  • Still technical: This is a leadership role without stepping away from code

What you’ll get

  • 5 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays
  • Tax-efficient stock options
  • Company pension scheme
  • Salary sacrifice EV scheme
  • Training and professional development support
  • Regular all-hands sessions with real transparency
  • Hybrid working (2 days in person)
  • Quarterly employee recognition awards
  • Access to discounts via BrightHR

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.

Principal Developer

Role: Principal Developer

Location: Office in Birmingham

Working Model:  Mostly remote – twice per month in the office

Salary: Up to £85k Plus benefits

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to seek and destroy any technical performance issues to the flagship software product for the company.

You’ll be able to roam about freely in the code to uncover and fix any significant performance, reliability, safety, and scalability problems for the foreseeable future.

The flagship product is a legacy application that is going to be replaced with a new, shiny version, but the OG needs to be tightened up on its performance to make sure that all the customers that use it have a seamless experience when the transition happens, and whilst the new version is being created, it needs to be at its best- it’s used by a LOT of people.

This is a really interesting role, in my opinion: it’s a very self-directed one where you’ll operate outside of the usual ticket-based Agile system to go off and solve problems all day!

You see a part of the product that is lagging behind others? Make it go faster.

You spot a nasty security risk? Make it safer.

You identify an issue with spikes in traffic? Make it smoother.

The tech for this mission is:

  • C# & .NET 4.8
  • ASP.NET MVC & Knockout.js
  • Azure SQL.
  • Azure
  • Azure DevOps

This part of the role will likely last around 18-24 months and will taper down as the new version is completed and transitioned over to. But do not fear! This will not be the end of your journey: the progression paths for you are numerous; it’s down to where you want to go. If you’re strong with Azure architecture and infrastructure-as-code, you’ll be well placed to join the architecture team, or if you’d prefer, you can be a tech lead for a new shiny tech team using C#, .NET, Core 9+, Angular19+, and Azure, or go down the management route if that’s what you’d like.

You will need to be excellent at what you do with a true love for technology. Just because the initial part of the role will be based around legacy code, it doesn’t mean it isn’t a vitally important and particularly complex task!

You will have 2 software engineers to aid you in your quest and have access to a QA, too, when you need them.

I think this would be a really fulfilling role for someone who loves to problem solve, regardless of what technology the problem happens to be written in.

You’ll be adding real value to the team, not sitting in some dark corner where nobody cares- you’ll be front and centre, and when your mission is complete, you’ll go on to other equally interesting and important projects with them.

If this sounds like it was made for you, please get in touch now to find out more about your new role!

This advert will self-destruct in 5, 4, 3, 2,1….

BOOM!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.

Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Role: Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location:  Nottingham, Beeston

Working Model: Once per week in the office.

Salary: Up to £55k plus benefits

How would you like to join a friendly, passionate, and supportive team that utilizes cutting-edge technology and collaborates regularly?

Want to lead the way with a transformative Azure cloud migration?

If this sounds like a great time to you, have a read!

I’m working with a lovely Nottingham-based FinTech company in the automotive space, which is looking to expand its Infrastructure team with an Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. You’ll be their only DevOps/ Cloud Engineer specialist in an Infrastructure team, so you really need to know your stuff!

This role will see you owning, extending, and constantly improving their cloud infrastructure estate.  As their subject matter expert, you’ll also get to disseminate your knowledge to the rest of the team.

You’ll be leading on a migration from on-prem to Azure cloud, so experience of doing this before, successfully, would be spot on.

You’ll be getting involved in a variety of work, including building internal systems, e.g. a CRM, and solutions that are both efficient and easy to scale, troubleshooting performance issues, reactive work to resolve incidents, and liaising with your immediate team and wider colleagues to make sure what you’re designing and delivering is meeting business needs, and hopefully, exceeding them!

At a glance, here are what you’ll need to be great at this role:

  • Vast knowledge of the Azure Stack
  • An infrastructure background is very much preferred, but if you’ve not come from infra, you’ll understand the network architecture of Azure.
  • Excellent knowledge in either Terraform or Bicep for IaC (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Team collaboration and knowledge-sharing capabilities are very necessary
  • Experience in monitoring resources in Azure, either using log analytics or similar technologies.
  • Experience creating CI/CD pipelines.
  • Azure certification
  • Knowledge in containerization would be nice, but not essential.

They are a small company but have a great structure in place, which means that progression routes are well-established, pay reviews are regular, and you’ll know what you need to do to reach that next level!

They have lots of flexibility around their working hours and location, etc, so you can start work between 7 am-10 am, as long as their core hours of 10 am-3 pm are covered, you’re free to work when you want to, as long as you get what you need done, they’re happy.

If this sounds great to you, apply today or drop me a line to find out more!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
