Job category: Leadership/Management

Head of Sales

Role: Head of Sales

Location: Primarily remote with quarterly in person meetings

Salary: Up to £70,000 plus OTE

This is a role for someone who wants to build something that lasts.

You’ll join a growing B2B SaaS business focused on helping leaders make better decisions over time. The platform is built for long term impact, not short-term wins. Insight comes before action. Trust matters. Delivery has to match what is sold.

They are now looking for a Head of Sales to design and lead a commercial function that scales properly. This is not about chasing numbers at any cost. It is about building a disciplined, credible sales operation that increases revenue and strengthens customer relationships.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Owning the full sales function and commercial strategy
  • Defining how the business targets, qualifies, and converts customers
  • Making customer expansion a core growth driver
  • Protecting pricing, margins, and deal quality
  • Building and coaching a small team of Business Development Managers
  • Creating clear, repeatable sales processes and enablement
  • Maintaining accurate CRM data, forecasting, and pipeline visibility
  • Working closely with Product, Delivery, Marketing, and Leadership

What success looks like

  • A predictable and healthy pipeline
  • Strong growth from existing customers
  • Increasing average contract value
  • Consistent conversion rates and renewals
  • A clear, trusted sales operating system in place

How the team works

  • Evidence first, action second
  • Clear ownership and follow-through
  • High trust with real accountability
  • Focus on systems that scale, not individual heroics

What we’re looking for

  • Experience leading a B2B or SaaS sales function
  • A strong background in consultative selling
  • Proven ability to build repeatable sales processes
  • Confidence working with senior leaders and CEOs
  • Comfort operating in a growing and evolving business
  • High integrity and sound judgement

Experience in education-related markets, public sector environments, or growth stage businesses would be beneficial but not essential.

If you care about doing sales properly and want to build something credible and sustainable, this role is worth a conversation.

We welcome diverse applicants and are committed to treating all candidates with dignity and respect.

Lead Data Engineer – Azure/Databricks

Role:  Lead Data Engineer – Azure/Databricks

Location:  Sheffield

Working Model:  Hybrid – 2 days per week in person

Salary:  Up to £85k depending on experience

Own the data platform. Shape the future architecture.

This role is for a hands-on data engineering leader who wants to build something properly, not babysit legacy pipelines.

You’ll take full ownership of the data engineering domain, leading the design and building of a modern, highly scalable data platform that handles complex, high-frequency industrial data. You’ll work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and senior leadership, with the trust and mandate to make meaningful architectural decisions.

If you enjoy balancing strong engineering principles with real-world business needs, and you like mentoring others while staying deeply technical, this role is built for you.

What you’ll be working on

  • Architecting and rebuilding the data transformation layer in Databricks
  • Designing robust data flows that support both real-time operational views and deep historical analysis
  • Moving pipelines from ad-hoc scripts to software-engineering standards (CI/CD, testing, modular design)
  • Defining clear data models, schemas, and standards across a complex data estate
  • Establishing a stable, high-performance serving layer for analytics, visualisation, and data science workloads
  • Working closely with data scientists to remove bottlenecks and enable better modelling and experimentation
  • Pair-programming, mentoring, and raising the engineering bar for a small, capable team

You won’t just be delivering features; you’ll be setting direction.

The tech you’ll work with

  • Core: Azure, Databricks, Python, SQL, dbt, MQTT
  • Storage & Serving: Delta Lake, Postgres, TimescaleDB
  • Modelling & ML: MLflow
  • Visualisation: Grafana

What makes you a great fit

You’re someone who can zoom out to architecture and zoom in to code, comfortably.

  • Proven experience building and owning data platforms on Azure
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Databricks (lakehouse architecture, cluster management, performance and cost optimisation)
  • Strong opinions on data modelling, schema design, and standardisation
  • You treat data pipelines as software: version control, CI/CD, automated testing
  • Comfortable challenging architectural decisions, and explaining why
  • Able to translate technical trade-offs into business impact for non-technical stakeholders
  • A mentor by nature: you raise the team through pairing, guidance, and example

Industry experience

  • Experience with industrial, sensor-driven, or time-series data is highly desirable
  • Alternatively, background in high-volume or highly variable data environments (missing data, duplicates, schema drift, spiky load) will transfer well

Why you’ll want this role

  • Real autonomy: You’re trusted to make architectural calls, that’s why you’re being hired
  • Visible impact: Your work directly unlocks better analytics and machine learning outcomes
  • Modern problems: You’ll work on advanced data patterns and architectures, not cosmetic refactors
  • Still technical: This is a leadership role without stepping away from code

What you’ll get

  • 5 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays
  • Tax-efficient stock options
  • Company pension scheme
  • Salary sacrifice EV scheme
  • Training and professional development support
  • Regular all-hands sessions with real transparency
  • Hybrid working (2 days in person)
  • Quarterly employee recognition awards
  • Access to discounts via BrightHR

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.

Fractional CTO

Role:  Fractional CTO – Industrial Automation

Location:  Nottingham, East Midlands

Working Arrangement:  1–2 Days/Week – Hybrid

Salary:  £350 – £600 per day

Shape the technical leadership of a high-growth engineering venture.

We’re working with a cutting-edge UK company developing complex, high-value industrial hardware. Their product bridges mechanical, software, and robotic disciplines – so they’re seeking a Fractional CTO to help guide their multidisciplinary R&D and engineering teams as the business scales.

This is a leadership/facilitation role – not a technical deep dive.

The ideal person will be able to empower the senior technical team, ensure cohesion across engineering and product streams, and help shape the roadmap. Experience leading robotics or mechatronic R&D teams, especially in capital equipment, would be a major plus, although an engineering leader from deep-tech, industrial machinery or automotive backgrounds may be considered (both mechnical and software engineering must have come under your remit in previous roles).

Key requirements:

  • Experience leading software/mechanical/robotics engineering teams
  • Background in complex R&D programmes for capital-intensive products
  • Strong communicator and facilitator of high-performing technical teams
  • Available to be onsite in the UK East Midlands c.50% of the time

This is an ideal opportunity for a technical leader who prefers working through influence, context, and structure – rather than architecture reviews or deep technical intervention.  Your role will be to guide the team and ensure projects are delivered using a combination of your people, stakeholder management and technical expertise.  You’ll play a key supporting role to the founder, essentially sitting between him and the technical teams, freeing him up to take the business forwards whilst you take ownership over the delivery of both commercial customer solutions and R&D projects.

On offer is a day rate of between £350 – £600 per day – though the remuneration will be flexible depending on the exact nature of the engagement.

Please apply or get in touch to discuss further.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.

Build a high-performing commercial function for a next-generation industrial tech business.
This fast-growing scale-up is bringing advanced automation systems to global markets, with a product offering that sits at the intersection of innovation and capital intensity. Average deal sizes exceed £500k, and they’re now looking for a commercially astute leader to shape their sales strategy and function from the ground up.

You’ll be leading a team including a US Business Development Director, a marketer and a technical solutions team that support the sales process, so a background in driving multi-stage, highly-technical sales processes involving high CapEx products and services is essential.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience selling high-value industrial, automation or Robotics solutions
  • A strong track record of building partnerships, channels, and strategic alliances
  • A ‘closer’ mindset to get deals over the line
  • Experience working alongside technical solutions engineers or pre-sales teams
  • Comfort working across global markets and within scale-up/early commercial teams

The commitment:

  • Fractional role (1–2 days/week)
  • Remote, with flexibility to engage with a UK-based team
  • Initial 6–12 month focus on go-to-market execution, team design, and partner strategy

If you’re a hands-on sales strategist who enjoys bringing structure to technical scale-ups, this is a chance to define the commercial foundations of an ambitious business with world-class engineering at its core.

On offer is a daily rate of between £400 – £900 per day plus agreed bonuses/uplifts.  However, your specific financial package will be flexible depending on what you bring to the table, so if you fit the bill above get in touch.

Non-Executive Director

Role:  Non-Executive Director (Engineering/Capital Equipment)

Location: Nottingham, East Midlands

Working Arrangement:   2–3 Days/Month – Onsite

Salary:  £800 – £1500 per day

A rare opportunity to influence the trajectory of a high-growth, disruptive capital equipment engineering scale-up.

We’re working with a venture-backed advanced engineering business poised for international expansion. They’ve developed unique IP in the high-value capital equipment space and are now seeking a Non-Executive Director with experience scaling disruptive, mechanical engineering-led businesses and helping to drive international growth.

Your background:

You’ve steered disruptive mechanical engineering start-ups /scale-ups through funding rounds, established operational KPIs, guided exec teams through corporate development, and supported growth into international markets (specifically the USA).

You will have proven experience within Low volume, high-value manufacturing, ideally within industrial automation, aerospace/automotive or robotics.

You bring both strategic perspective and practical insight, ideally gained in environments involving complex hardware, robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing systems.

Solutions Delivery Manager

Title: Solutions Delivery Manager

Location:  Leicester

Working Policy: 3 Days per week in office

Salary: Up to £75k plus benefits (including industry-specific ones)

Are you an outcomes-obsessed, solutions-mad Delivery Manager with great business acumen, who knows how to wrangle any team you’re put in front of?

Are you just as happy talking to external stakeholders as you are with a flock of BAs or gaggle of Software Engineers?

Then look no further, this is your next role!

Working in a medium-sized company, that’s all about automobiles, you’ll be a senior member of the tech department: using your technical background daily, actively contributing towards a positive culture, heading up a team of BAs and, occasionally, software Engineers, and working closely and collaboratively with various teams within the business to drive forward delivery, business objectives, and technology solutions.

You’ll do some high-level solutions design, be heavily involved in 3rd party integrations, be a point of escalation for any blockers, and will be customer-facing: being an advocate for the client to internal and external customers.

This is a brilliant role that’ll bring together all your technical, delivery, and business experience to bear in an energetic, interesting, and modern department, where all your work will be much needed and visible to the company- you’ll not be a tiny cog in a huge machine. Staff Engineer  – Climate Tech

Role:  Staff Engineer  – Climate Tech

Location:  Fully Remote but you have to be based in the East Coast, USA, or Mainland Europe

Salary:  Up to £150k with generous benefits + equity

*PLEASE NOTE: Python/FastAPI + React/Typescript expertise is essential*

Wow.

That’s how we felt after the briefing call with the Head of Engineering.  Why? Because this opportunity really does have everything.

Work with a purpose that is changing the world for the better? Check.

Backed by serious investment whilst also doubling revenue YoY? Check.

Remote work, with super-talented colleagues spread across the globe? Check.

Great pay, benefits and culture?  Check, check, check!

This *ridiculously* cool climate-tech company is at the start-up/scale-up inflection point.

They’re moving past the days where problems were solved with unstructured grit, where intuition and random brilliance were the order of the day.  They’re now looking for sanity and scalability, and you’ll play a leading role in this transformation.

Their team develops a unique product that helps organisations proactively monitor and manage one of the major (and up until now, less-addressed) effects of climate change.  It is a devastating problem that is wreaking havoc across the world, but with the products you’ll be developing you’ll directly be contributing to a safer and more stable world.

With a new round of investment and new customers signing up for their groundbreaking product, they are on the cusp of a major recruitment drive, but none of their roles are more important than this Chief Software Engineer role.

Currently, they have a talented team of software engineers with a front-end bias, and little in the way of deep Python software development experience.  With these roles, they want to help balance this, by hiring a super-capable Chief Software Engineer with expert-level proficiency in full-stack, cloud-driven (GCP, Azure or AWS) development in React, Angular or Typescript along with Python/FastAPI (this is vital).

You must also have a genuine interest in the sustainability movement and working for a company that is mission-driven as you’ll be working with super-passionate people who care deeply about our planet.

You’ll have no formal line management responsibilities in this role but will lead/coach the team and drive the adoption of industry-leading technology and standards across the engineering team.  You’ll be a flexible and sensitive technical leader, able to win over colleagues who are working through this cultural and technical transition using your excellent relationship-building, leadership and collaboration skills.

The role will be remote based with occasional travel into London and/or Amsterdam, and you can be based anywhere in the US, mainland Europe or on the East Coast of the US (but able to be flexible to GMT/CET working patterns).

On offer is a salary of up to £150k with generous benefits + equity.

Please apply to find out if you might be suitable (all our applicants are screened by an experienced, human recruiter and not AI)

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
