Senior GCP Engineer

Full Time

Thank You for Applying!

Your application has come through successfully.

Role: Senior GCP Engineer

Location: Remote (Nottingham)

Salary: £75k – £100k

Google. You love Google. I’m not talking about your choice of a search engine or web browser, but it’s definitely your choice of public cloud platform!

It’s what you know best and why people come to you all the time to ask “how do we do this right?”. The ‘this’ might be a migration from one of the lesser Cloud platforms (*cough* AWS, *cough cough* Azure) or the further development of their GCP infrastructure.

In any case, you’re used to being the smartest GCP guy/gal in the room and providing expert insight to customers and teammates delivering ambitious projects.

Now, why would you want to consider this role? Well, firstly it’s a chance to take on a senior role within an established GCP practice, driving the planning & implementation of the newest technologies, building technical relationships with customers at the highest level and having real authority and influence.

Secondly, the company is a serious player in the international software consultancy market. They aren’t too big, not too small…they’re juuust right!

It’s a place where autonomy, ambition and opportunity are the words that people live by. Where people can pretty much get everything they look for in their career – flexibility, progression, an amazing culture and some of the most technically interesting projects anywhere to be found. We choose our customers carefully at Rebel, and this one ticks pretty much every box in the ‘ideal employer’ checklist.

You will need to have excellent communication/presentation skills as this role will include presenting to small audiences, both internal and externally. You will be working with an extremely intelligent team of experts, getting hands-on with advanced technologies & get stuck with well-known clients.

The tech skills you will need for this role include BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Google Spanner, Kubernetes, an understanding of DevOps & SRE principles & understanding of IAC.

In return, there is a very competitive basic salary between £75k – £100k with bonuses/benefits and plenty of internal progressions in both salary & position. The role can be based remotely with travel into Nottingham occasionally to meet with the rest of the team (they are in the process of setting up a new hub to allow people to mingle with their peers!)
