Job type: Contract

IT Manager

Role:  IT Manager – ISO experience needed (initially 4 months)

Salary:  Competitive Daily Rate (Inside IR35)

Location:  Nottingham – Hybrid – 1 day a week in the office

How long have you been an IT manager? Do you have a wealth of experience? Are you at a stage in your career where you need a change?

Have you been instrumental in transforming teams and departments throughout your IT management career? Have you previously advised internal stakeholders of the best suited strategy of the department, where resources should be used and identifying potential areas that need to be documented and how to go about getting ISO accreditations?

If so, keep reading because I’ve got a cracking contract role on, just for you!

This IT Manager role will be spinning two plates, the first plate is the technical support to internal users and the second is experience in ISO accreditations.

You will not be line managing staff but rather managing IT business projects within the business and holding individuals or departments to account. You will be working directly with the internal security & compliance manager, Managing Director, and various software development managers (they have x3 development managers).

What am I looking for in a hands-on IT Manager –

  • Previous experience in either obtaining ISO accreditations or at least the upkeep of them.
  • Responsible for the technical support for around one hundred internal users, this would include laptop upgrades / maintenance, AD problems and policy management issues.
  • Previous experience in implementing policies, having a strategic roadmap of the department.

If this sounds like your kind of job, let’s chat!

CONTRACT Software Test Consultant

Role:  CONTRACT Software Test Consultant (initially 4 months)

Salary:  competitive daily rate (inside IR35)

Location:  Nottingham – Hybrid – 1 day a week in the office

Are you a software testing veteran? Have you been instrumental in transforming teams and departments throughout your contracting career? Have you previously advised internal stakeholders of the best suited test strategy, where resources should be used and identifying potential areas that need to be automated or added to the list? If so, keep reading because I’ve got a cracking contract role on, just for you!

I’m on the hunt for an excellent Software Test Consultant who will be working alongside the Test Manager who manages a team of dozen testers in Nottingham (you get to grace the office once a week, but WFH royalty for the other four days!). For every software tester, there is 3 developers, so they know that testers are part and parcel of the SDLC (not something that this bolted on at the end).

What am I looking for?

  • Conduct an initial audit and fact finding of the testing team.
  • Understand their current process and systems, identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses.
  • Evaluate test exit reports, test policy and test strategy.
  • Advise on their current test strategy and roadmap for the department.

You’ll be working directly with the Test Manager and a couple of the test leads.

I’m on the hunt for a Software Tester to join the ranks of a tech powerhouse in Nottingham (you get to grace the office once a week, but WFH royalty for the other four days!). Picture this: you, part of an elite squad of IT mercenaries, ready to tackle a colossal project. The mission? Upgrade a product used by millions throughout the UK. The pace there is fast, and the opposite of corporate, so if you’re used to/ prefer working in a silo or in a large company where there are dozens of people around you to lean on, this contract is not going to be for you.

Skills-wise, you’ll be great with the full Microsoft stack and complementary tech; C#, .Net Core/ 7, angular or react (either or both is fine), and SQL.

You’ll need to be able to start immediately; i.e. this month (September 2023).

ICT Support Technician

Location:  5 days a week in Nottingham (can drop down to 1 once you’ve built trust)

Salary:  £100 to £125 a day

Sector – Public sector

Must haves – IT literacy (comfortable with Microsoft products), Active Directory experience, ability and willingness to drive, good with solving basic hardware/network diagnostics.

Important! – For this role, the successful candidate will be put through NPPV3 level security vetting (level below military level) which is quite invasive so this role wouldn’t be right for someone with a criminal record or someone who may be seen as a security risk.

Are you a contractor or a permie looking for your next opportunity in IT support?

Do you want to work somewhere where there is a longstanding team, stability and a close-knit culture, instead of feeling like you’re working in a call centre with different colleagues coming and going every day like you get with a lot of tech support roles?

Maybe you are good at tinkering around with PCs in your spare time and are currently working in an entry-level IT role where you use Active Directory Day to day to set up user permissions and you are used to fixing a dodgy router from time to time and solving problems over the phone for end users.

They aren’t just looking for someone to answer a phone, they will also be sending you on missions to other offices to do hands-on, deskside support in and around Nottingham (you must be able to drive).

Perhaps you are at a point in your early career where you are thinking “I know I don’t have much experience, but there MUST be something better out there!”

If this is you, please smash the apply button! 😊

You’re used to working in a role where you provide desk-side and classroom-based software training to non-technical users.  You’re great at getting people comfortable using new software, doing demos and answering any tricky questions they may have.

The point is, whether it’s classroom-based training, workshops, one-to-one tuition and/or e-learning, you’ve got a good track record, whether that’s as a trainer or working within technical support.

We’re after someone who is proactive and takes pride in their work – and, needless to say, you must be great with people!

This organization are a brilliant place to work, with a real close-knit culture – they’re not corporate, and you won’t be working all hours of the day, but you do need to be in their central Nottingham office 5 days a week with some local travel, so a driving license is essential.
