Working Arrangement:  Full-time

Salary:  £30,000 + AAT Study Support

A leading global retail organisation is looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join its fast-paced finance team in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance or accounts experience who is looking to progress their career while receiving AAT study support within a dynamic and growing organisation.

Working as part of a busy finance function, you will play a key role in supporting financial operations, resolving account queries, and ensuring finance processes run smoothly.

The Opportunity

This role offers great exposure within a collaborative finance team and provides AAT study support for candidates looking to further develop their qualifications and progress their career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolving customer account queries and supporting the collection of outstanding third-party debt
  • Assisting with banking administration, including the management of system users, role profiles, and account access
  • Maintaining and updating customer data within the invoicing system
  • Supporting the finance team to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Assisting with audit preparation and documentation requests
  • Preparing management information and finance reports
  • Supporting the team with purchase orders and budget administration

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or finance administration role
  • AAT studying or interested in studying (study support provided)
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Experience supervising colleagues is advantageous but not essential

Financial Controller

Role:  Financial Controller

Location:  Sheffield

Working Model:  Hybrid – Office Based 3 Days/Week

Salary:  Up to £60k

Are you looking for your first role as a Financial Controller, or are you a Financial Controller looking for your next move? This is a brand new role so you will be walking into a clean slate and be able to put your own stamp on things. If this sounds like the role for you please read on….

You will be reporting directly to the CFO and will support the maintenance and development of financial controls and overseeing financial transactions. You will be involved in bringing management accounts etc back in-house. This is a stand-alone role, and as the business grows you will have the ability to potentially bring on a further member to the team.

You will get involved with all aspects, ranging from management accounts to statutory accounts and VAT returns. You will be a meticulous individual who can communicate well across different teams and with stakeholders.

What experience am I looking for?

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Statutory reporting and preparation of statutory accounts
  • VAT returns
  • Experience with Xero is a bonus but not essential
