“The greatest leader isn’t necessarily the one that does the greatest things. He (apparently there were no female leaders in the 80s!) is the one who makes the people do the greatest things.”
Now that I’ve got a tenuously linked quote out from Ronald Reagan of the way let’s talk about you…
You’ve had your fair share of experience in leading others and making the seemingly impossible, possible. As you’ve grown and developed, you’ve always made sure your teams have too.
You’re an effective manager and team builder who brings software teams together to deliver amazing results – that’s your selling point.
So, you’re probably thinking if this employer knows who they want, why is there such a broad range in salary? The reason is they want to hire several managers who may be at different stages in their management career – they have a large team and have room for managers at different levels.
Maybe you are currently a team lead and managing a small mix of Dev/QA team. Or, on the other end of the spectrum you could be someone who has been Engineering Manager for many years and has managed multiple teams across different time zones. Either way I’d love to speak to you!
You’ll be managing a multidisciplinary team such as product managers / owners, software testers developers, BA’s and engineering team leads. Your effective communication skills (technical and non-technical) will influence the strategic growth of the business’ SaaS platform. Coaching, mentoring, and supporting are the watch words here.
Your technical background isn’t as important here; they’d rather hire the person for who they are. However, if you have experience in AWS, C#, or TypeScript, this would be advantageous.
Ultimately, we need problem-solvers, communicators, people who are proactive in finding solutions to less obvious problems.
As for the company, they deliver an industry leading SaaS platform that has gone from strength to strength in recent years. They’re a fast-growing business that have recently acquired another European company to expand their ambitions internationally.
They have also set up in other major international markets, and there’s no telling what the future has in store – the sky really is the limit for them.
In addition to salary they offer a 5% pension, 25 days holiday, health insurance and fully remote working (anywhere in the UK).
